2021-2022 Covid Protocol
Over the last month, I have agonized over and researched the covid protocols we should follow this year, especially since children are now being affected by the relatively unknown Delta Variant as well as RSV. In that time I have had every family member and friend who currently works in the medical field strongly encourage me to require masks, at least for now. I literally hate wearing masks and am fully vaccinated, but I am sitting about a foot from each student for about 5+ hours a day. Therefore, I don’t want to be a spreader and I want to help students not spread serious illnesses to each other. So until we know a little more, please send your student in with a mask.
In addition,
1. If a student is having any symptoms or has been exposed, please opt for a Zoom lesson. I will do the same.
2. I will continue to sanitize the piano keys between families of students.
3. I will have hand sanitizer available for the students (with a touchless dispenser) to use on their way in and before we use any of the Minute-To-Win-It game pieces.
4. Unlike last year, I don’t mind if you send in siblings who are students together to wait for each other. I will need the waiting sibling to be in the foyer, though. I have a bean bag and the table is back for homework/coloring.
5. Finally, please make every effort to be on time to pick up your child so that we have the least amount of cross-over between families in my very small foyer. Last year it worked well to have students being dropped off wait in the car until they saw the previous student walk out of my house.
Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any concerns.
