PRACTICE INSTRUCTIONS
***FOR 2015 THERE WILL BE A NEW LINE FOR "FREE PLAY MINUTES". This is optional.***
A practice record, like the one above, will be in the front of each student's binder. The student is expected to practice each assignment, using the Performance Practice Guide or Performance Instructions like the ones below, 5 times a week and record the number of minutes of practice each day. The following week, points will be awarded based on goals met, practice minutes and Amazing Bass Race (ABR) activities.

NOTE: Practice minutes must be written down before arriving at the lesson and parent's initials are REQUIRED for the student to receive practice points for the previous week.
Each student will have at least one full-page Performance Practice Guide for a song that they want to master for a performance. This gives the student, parents and teacher the opportunity to see how much work has been completed on a song and how much there is left to master. I hope by keeping this in one place it will make it easier for the student to notice if they need to increase practice time to master the piece in time for the performance.
A shorter version of the Practice Instructions will be attached to other songs that will not be used in performances.
